“The consequences of my actions are related to the actions of others, and visa-versa. In everyday life this knowledge should be applied in a limited area of self-experience. ”
We create events by responding to what happens. There are several responses to choose from, almost an infinite amount, whenever we cause something to happen, or rather become the conduits of an event. We should create events that are pleasurable, that are good for the soul, and the soul of others, for we are no more then the memories that we create, and the events we experience.
One of the main difficulties of making desired events is obstacles, problems that get in the way. I recently stopped smoking, and afterward speculated the causes of why it was so hard to begin with and realized that the only thing stopping me from doing what I really wanted was excuses; the walls we put up in front of ourselves that keep us "prisoners" to our problems. If you have some idea in yourself that can combat your excuse you will see the cell bars move aside as you free yourself from the vice of your own behavior, or the vice of your past experience.
Christians are all looking for salvation, but salvation does not come from belief alone, but by change in action, or change in behavior. Salvation is release, and if you know what is holding your true desires back, then you can loosen the fist you have around your heart, and let yourself become. I write more about this in my book, "On Being and Consciousness" by Josh Alfred (2017).
