Awareness views the world in increments, in parts. Through our eyes we only get to see a part of the whole, but if we open our minds, and expanded awareness the whole can be seen in the mind as one. If I am aware of one person, that person is not the whole universe, if I am aware of one problem, that problem is not the whole universe, although sometimes our focus, our love, and our awareness, makes those things seem like they are, but they are only a fragment in the vast picture. In silence, in stillness, we can be aware that there is more going on then what meets the eye. When the mind realizes that everything is one thing, it has to stretch out its awareness by use of imagination, for no mind can be aware of all things at once.
No thing which exists can disappear because we think it. Things change, we loose awareness of that, we put that behind us, we move out of one place and into another, but the world remains a concrete unitive continuum.
See the world as an entire circle "O", that is to be aware of oneness. If it weren't for the parts this "O" would not be what it is, but it is, because that is the very nature of the "O".
The mind, with a little help from the imagination has the ability to expand awareness, or minimize awareness like a balloon, or a web-page. If one has a golf-ball size awareness, they will experience things with a different value than someone with awareness of the whole.
To see the world as one is to center being in its own-self.
